Elegantly set tables, adorned with translucent chairs, stretched the shadowy lengths of The Highline Hotel Ballroom for L’Wren Scott’s Fall 2012 collection. Her collection, Tea Time, fit perfectly with the setting to create the feeling of ‘Downton Abbey’ inspired by early 1900’s England to WWII . Guests enjoyed a lovely lunch against this dramatic backdrop as the models began to stroll down the runway.

The walls were alive at Raf Simmons debut collection for Christian Dior Couture Fall 2012. We have all been on the edge of our seats to see what he would do with Dior. We heard how he was searching Paris for the perfect location, and today it was all revealed.
As production geeks, we are in love with these flower covered walls by Mark Colle who previously worked with Raf at Jil Sander. And don’t get me started about that red coat dress.

The audience was filled with icons and peers including Pierre Cardin, Azzedine Alaïa(right), Marc Jacobs, Alber Elbaz, Donatella Versace, Riccardo Tisci, Olivier Theyskens and Diane von Furstenberg(left). They must have been excited too.

We are very excited about the Creatures of The Wind for J.Crew pieces.

Including this incredibly soft twin-set with it’s gorgeously odd colors and this sleeveless denim floral dress that makes me want to make a pitcher of ice tea and have a twisted tupperware party.

Watching “jiro dreams of sushi” was like a sweet escape. Jiro, his sons, and apprentices are irresistible and remarkable in their singular focus and dedication, especially in comparison to our overstimulated multitasking lives. Go see it at IFC before May 10th if you can. It is time well spent. This quiet and elegant film is a meditation on work, family and the art of perfection. It centers on 85-year-old Jiro Ono’s restaurant, inauspiciously located in a Tokyo subway station, which has been honored with three Michelin stars.
